To understand the ills inherent in a society, we must begin by bringing them to light and exposing them. Combining text and images is an ideal way of combining factual transmission and awakening the sensibilities of those who read us. Honored to be able to contribute to this endeavor, we wanted to depict to subtly depict the problems associated with the colonial legacy. Our approach is based on a methodology encompassing analysis, research and exchange. We drew on historical knowledge, explored archives and mobilized our personal memories and experiences. This collaboration highlighted the importance of the image and its impact, which varies according to context and individual perspective. The question was how to render such a complex theme. We found the answer in the medium of collage. The images we chose, whether humorous, shocking or intriguing, allowed us to take a unique approach while avoiding the pitfalls of cliché. Historical photographs reinforced the temporal dimension of our works, lending documentary authenticity and weaving an emotional link with the past. with the past.
